Many of us respond to our health in the same way. The small, unnoticed changes in our health lead us to believe that nothing is wrong and that the loosening of the belt is just a part of getting older. I was told my health was heading in the wrong direction about 7 years ago. I had reached 89kg, my doctor said my good cholesterol was low and my bad cholesterol was high.

And so I did. I managed to get down to 82kg over the next year or so but no further until 18 months ago. Now 82kg on the BMI index for my height, put me just over the range for normal. While BMI is not a perfect measurement, I believe it does provide a good guide.
Fast forward from 18 months ago to today. I lost 10kg in the first 10 months and maintained a weight between 71 and 73kg for the last 8 months.
I believe I am no longer in the very slow boiling pot of water and have greatly reduced the chances of being put into a fast boiling pot of water too. The things I now do on a daily basis, and the small changes in choices I made to what I eat and how I live has made a difference.
